MEANJIN

Meanjin is Australia's second oldest literary journal, named after the Aboriginal word for the spike of land in Brisbane, where it began in 1940. Meanjin has published work by international writers like Jean-Paul Sartre and Kurt Vonnegut and Aussie writers such as Judith Wright, David Malouf, Helen Garner and one of my favourites, Peter Carey.

I read through all the fiction and non-fiction submissions and provided editorial feedback on accepted and non-accepted entries. I also helped copy-edit the quarterly manuscript, the Meanjin blog and various social media channels.

One of my highlights was producing the Meanjin Pub Event at the Union Hotel in Fitzroy, where writers read their work to an audience. We packed out the upstairs of the pub and sold a lot of journals.
